We believe that all doctrine is important but that not all doctrines are of equal weight. To be a member of this church, one must believe the core Christian doctrines that are stated in our Affirmation of Faith. We believe those truths are central to the Christian faith. At the same time, while those truths are essential, they are not a comprehensive list of important doctrine. As such, we have created this Teaching Statement (linked below) which expresses in far more detail the doctrine which this church believes.

Not every member agrees with every point of doctrine listed herein, but this is the doctrine that is formally taught in the church. Thus elders, deacons, and teachers of the church are expected to teach consistently with the doctrine outlined in these pages. While we do believe these things to be true and consistent with Scripture and the historic doctrines of the church, we acknowledge that there are certainly shortcomings within this document. Should we become aware of anything which is incorrect, or which speaks more confidently than Scripture, we would change the document accordingly. Thus our Teaching Statement should be viewed as a positive guide to our doctrine but not as equal nor in any way equivalent to the authority of Scripture itself.
